Managing directors

Husband and wife team Craig and Trudy Hayes.

Craig began work in the building industry in 2000 and has a comprehensive knowledge of the building trade.  Craig completed his apprenticeship with Calder Stewart Construction where he mainly worked on commercial building projects, woolsheds and general farm buildings.  During this time Craig worked on many large commercial projects including the Otago Correctional Facility.

Craig then went onto work for a local building company from 2008 until early 2015.  During this time, he worked mainly on new homes and renovations.  A highlight was being involved in a new build that received a Gold Award at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition in 2014.

Since starting Nailedit Building in mid-2015 Craig and his team have specialised in new builds, renovations and alterations.  Nailedit Building has built itself a clear foundation of quality service and developed great relationships with its clientele. We believe this has lead to the ongoing success of our company.

Craig has a hands-on approach, meaning he personally oversees each project working in partnership with clients to manage the whole process.  Having one contact streamlines projects and simplifies decision making.  This also helps to limit overheads which helps to bring project costs down meaning savings for our clients.

Trudy has a background in customer service, management and accounting and has brought this knowledge to our company.  Trudy’s roll is mainly in the office area and occasionally on the end of a broom.

Craig and Trudy have two young boys, Baxter and Tom, and Jack the foxy who make up their family.

We love to stay connected with the communities in which we work, giving back where we can through sponsorship and free repairs and maintenance in community projects.  We also help with the local high school hosting students wishing to get a taste of the building trade through work experience.
